Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy sets out the rules for processing personal data in connection with the use of the tew.pl website operated by the Polish Hydropower Association (Towarzystwo Elektrowni Wodnych).

1. Data Controller

The controller of personal data is the Office of the Polish Hydropower Association, ul. Piaskowa 18, 84-240 Reda, Poland.

2. What data we collect

We process the following categories of data:

  • Technical data (server logs) — IP address, date and time of visit, browser type and the address of the visited page. This data is collected automatically by the hosting server (netmark.pl).
  • Member account data — first name, last name, e-mail address, password (stored in encrypted form) — exclusively for registered PHA members with access to the Member Zone.
  • E-mail correspondence data — first name, last name, e-mail address and message content, if you contact the PHA Office.

3. Purpose and legal basis for processing

  • Server logs — legitimate interest of the Controller (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): ensuring the security and proper functioning of the website.
  • Member accounts — legitimate interest of the Controller or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR): operating the PHA Member Zone, providing internal documents and information to Association members.
  • E-mail correspondence — legitimate interest of the Controller (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): handling enquiries and maintaining contact with members and persons interested in PHA activities.

4. Data retention periods

  • Server logs: 12 months.
  • Member account data: until the end of membership in the PHA or withdrawal of consent to use the website, then deletion.
  • E-mail correspondence: 5 years.

5. Recipients of data

Technical data may be accessible to the hosting service provider (netmark.pl) solely to the extent necessary for the technical operation of the website. Data is not transferred to third countries or international organisations.

6. Cookies

The tew.pl website uses only strictly necessary cookies:

  • WordPress session (wordpress_sec_*, wp-settings-*) — a temporary session cookie necessary for the operation of the website and the administrator panel. Deleted when the browser is closed or the session expires.
  • Member Zone login (wordpress_logged_in_*) — stores login information, valid for the duration of the session or until logout.
  • Polylang language preference (pll_language) — remembers the selected language version (PL/EN), valid for 1 year.

These cookies are technically necessary for the operation of the website and do not require user consent (Art. 173(3) of the Polish Telecommunications Act). The website does not use analytical, advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Your rights

In connection with the processing of your personal data, you have the following rights:

  • the right to access your data and receive a copy,
  • the right to rectification of data,
  • the right to erasure of data,
  • the right to restriction of processing,
  • the right to object to processing,
  • the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office uodo.gov.pl
